FRIDAY AUGUST 17TH 2018 (FINAL DAY)

THURSDAY AUGUST 16TH 2018

EARLY AFTERNOON: According to Sky Sport’s Luca Marchetti, Milan made an attempt to sign Milinkovic-Savic but the formula did not satisfy Lazio. Right now there are no ongoing negotiations. A deal is difficult to be completed in 24 hours due to the potential formula and Lazio not having the time to bring in a replacement.

MIDNIGHT: Il Sole 24 Ore claim AC Milan have agreed a deal with Lazio to obtain Sergej Milinkovic-Savic on loan for €40m with an option to buy. More details to come Friday.

WEDNESDAY AUGUST 15TH 2018

Given that there are only a few days left until the transfer market closes, Leonardo of Milan could present a new offer for the Serbian valued at €120 million euros, with the loan option costing €40 million euros. FIFA Financial Fair Play remains an issue, as Milan would have to come up with a precise plan not to exceed the money collected from sales too much.

TUESDAY AUGUST 14TH 2018

According to what has been reported by Corriere dello Sport, Milinkovic-Savic will earn €3.2 million per season plus bonuses, until an expiry date of 2023 – although it is unlikely that he will remain at the team for this length of time. Milan were the latest club to have ‘reported interest’ in the midfielder, yet Milan’s loan ‘hypothesis’ did not appeal to Claudio Lotito. The possibility of a move to Real Madrid is still a faded danger yet for now, it appears as though Milinkovic-Savic will be staying at Lazio.

MONDAY AUGUST 13TH 2018

EVENING: According to @DiMarzio [Italian sports writer for Sky Sport and owner of GianlucaDiMarzio.com], there is no operation in progress between Milan and Lazio for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The only club that may still be interested is Real Madrid – Manchester United and Juventus are out of the question for now.
