Simone Inzaghi, Source- Agevolazioni e Finanziamenti

Lazio was defeated yesterday in the first match of the Serie A TIM by Napoli and remain at 0 points on the season. After the match, in the press room at the Stadio Olimpico, Simone Inzaghi commented on the 1-2 loss.

“We started very well. Dribbling, possession and a lot of passion and aggression. We had played good football. After the goal we lowered the bar, we gave away chances to Napoli, and carelessness led to the second goal. Insigne had a crazy shot, Acerbi had hit the post late on. I think that a draw would have been the fairer result. In certain games, obviously more needs to be done. For some players who recently arrived, I may have asked for an expenditure of energy that maybe they did not have. However, it was fundamental considering the disqualifications of certain players…”.

“Milinkovic and Luis Alberto not match-fit? The Spaniard started preparation late due to his injury. His condition and game quality will surely grow. In terms of Milinkovic-Savic, I would have used him from the first minute no matter what, however, he had to play with players who have just arrived – something that may have caused some issues; but I had to make certain choices. If we were ok physically as a team, we would have won the match.”

Bad luck today, did you see Acerbi’s header off the post? “You have to look for luck. I do not believe in bad luck. We probably wanted a different match schedule, but this happened and I personally can not affect this. I can affect my team. We will have many things to analyze before Saturday. It will be another very difficult match that we will have to target in the best possible way”.
