With only 5 appearances and 186 minutes of footballing action in the biancocelesti colors, it was only a matter of time before Davide Di Gennaro was to be moving on from Lazio. A few days ago, it was reported that Di Gennaro was in talks to sign with Parma or Torino all morning, but in the end, the player chose Serie B side Salernitana – following the likes of teammates Djavan Anderson and André Anderson. Below, is the official statement from Salernitana and the first words of Di Gennaro in the Granata colors.

“U.S. Salernitana 1919 announces that it has reached an agreement with S.S. Lazio for the temporary transfer of the 1988 born midfielder Davide Di Gennaro.”

“First of all, I thank the club, Claudio Lotito, and Marco Mezzaroma, for giving me the chance to wear the granata shirt. I personally chose Salernitana, I was very keen, and I believed very much in the people and in the project that Director Fabiani had discussed with me. I live in emotions and I think that a warm city like that of Salerno can give me so much. I arrive with great enthusiasm, bringing my experience and with the desire to give my best for this shirt. I had several proposals from teams of higher ranking, but I needed new stimuli and after the past year I felt the need to feel like a new protagonist and I think Salerno can give me all this”.
