According to what has been reported by CalcioMercato.it, AC Milan did approach Lazio for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, through the player’s agent Mateja Kezman. However, the formula of the transfer, that of a loan with option to buy, did not satisfy Lazio president Claudio Lotito’s demands for the 23-year-old midfielder.
The Serbian was the interest of many top clubs this summer, with Juventus, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Barcelona, amongst others, interested in signing Milinkovic-Savic.
However, the Serbian has remained in the Italian capital, with a contract extension thought to be in the works; as is also the case with prolific forward Ciro Immobile.
Milinkovic-Savic will be hoping to bounce back from the team’s unlucky 2-1 defeat to Napoli in order to overcome Juventus at the Allianz Stadium on Saturday evening.
