Former Lazio Player Santiago Gentiletti Signs With Albacete Balompié

Pictured above from marca.com, Santiago Juan Gentiletti has signed for Albacete Balompié, known simply as Albacete, in the second tier of Spanish football (Segunda División) on a free transfer. Gentiletti, an Italian-Argentine defender of 33 years of age, has spent the last four seasons in Italy playing in the Serie A TIM with the likes of firstly Lazio followed by Genoa. Now without a contract, the player was looking for a place to most likely end his career has now found this opportunity. His long career began in 2003 with Gimnasia in Argentina; after five years with the club, he left to Provincial Osorno of Chile and then to Club Deportivo O’Higgins. In 2010 he moved to Stade Brestois in France, before returning to San Lorenzo de Almagro. Lastly, after winning the Copa Libertadores with the Argentine club, he moved to Italy. Gentiletti also has European competition experience: two matches in the Champion League and six in the Europa League.
