Former Lazio players Hernan Crespo and Aron Winter conducted the draw for the Europa League group stage today, as the fat of the Biancocelesti was decided. Lazio are to be in Group H alongside Olympique Marseille, Eintracht Frankfurt and Apollon Limassol.
Speaking to Sky Sport after the match, Hernan Crespo gave his input on Lazio’s draw, Higuain and Immobile and the team he thinks are favourites.
“Really tough round for Lazio, but it is not so obvious, they must be careful. I would like to see the Italian teams win again, because 20 years have passed since our success with Parma, it’s really a long time.“
“Higuain or Immobile? It will be interesting for the future of the national team to see Ciro in international matches. For Higuain, after many years in the Champions League, doing the Europa League will not be a problem. However, I think we will see him more in the league.”
“There are teams of great skill, if the big teams decide to bet, they can bring the cup home. The same with Chelsea, let’s see if Sarri will point to Europe this year. Sevilla are specialised in cups...”
