Report: Cristiano Lombardi rejected Almeria transfer

Cristiano Lombardi, who spent last season on loan at Benevento, hoped that during the summer camp he would be able to secure a spot as one of the wingers in Simone Inzaghi’s  3-5-1-1 formation since he had adapted to that role at Benevento. However, Inzaghi has decided differently and the club has looked for other destinations for Lombardi for the 2018/19 season.

As the transfer window has now closed for many of the leagues, time is now running out to send Lombardi abroad. A side note: according to Radiosei, Lazio had received an offer from Spanish club Almeria in the Second Division for the Italian, but he turned it down.

Now, the midfielder risks being sidelined from football during the first half of the season. This is due to Lazio’s squad being full for both the Serie A and the Europa League; it is not the best option for a player trying to grow and improve.
