UEFA Europa League squad: Lukaku and Patric out

Olympique de Marseille v Club Atletico de Madrid – UEFA Europa League Final

Lazio have now submitted their Europa League squad list of 25 players. Simone Inzaghi decided to leave out both Patric and Jordan Lukaku; instead including Dusan Basta. This way Inzaghi also had room to include Luiz Felipe as the rules of under-22 players do not apply in Europa League (instead U-21). Bruno Jordao and Pedro Neto, for example, do not need to be included in the squad list.

The list is completed by the players who grew up in the Italian Federation (Strakosha, Immobile, Parolo, Acerbi) and those grown up in the club’s academy (Guerrieri, Murgia, Cataldi and Rossi). In the last slots, Cristiano Lombardi could also be included, by moving Rossi to the B-list of under-21 players, but the change was not made, confirming the fact that Lombardi is considered to be out of Inzaghi’s team. The list of 25 will be changeable only in January after the group stage and if Lazio instead lists one between Patric and Lukaku, this will inevitably exclude someone else already present.

Goalkeepers: Strakosha, Proto, Guerrieri

Defenders: Acerbi, Bastos, Caceres, Luiz Felipe, Radu, Wallace

Midfielders: Badelj, Basta, Berisha, Cataldi, Durmisi, Leiva, Luis Alberto, Lulic, Marusic, Milinkovic-Savic, Murgia, Parolo

Attackers: Caicedo, Correa, Immobile, Rossi
