Lukaku files application to Bruges court to appeal for speeding fines

For Jordan Lukaku, speed on and off the pitch seem to be having consequences – the latter unfortunately negative. According to the Belgian press, as a cause of repeated convictions, the Belgian biancoceleste defender has filed an application to the Bruges court against the sanctions he received two years ago for speeding. The prosecutor claims that the appeal was filed late, while Lukaku’s lawyer replied: “He had so many verdicts during that period that he no longer knew what it was. Moreover, he had never heard of the possible opposition procedure”. On the first of October, the judge will have to decide whether to call upon a new trial: in any case, Lukaku will want the least harmful sentence.
