“Lazio have not been beautiful by any means this season.” This is the statement expressed by Fabio Poli, the former biancoceleste striker to the club’s official television at Formello. The former players reasoning behind this was that in these first three matches, we “have not yet seen any good football played to this date”. Despite this, he did make an exception stating that Fiorentina and Sassuolo have been excellent so far this season. Recognizing the supremacy of Napoli and Juventus, he touched upon the problems of Simone Inzaghi’s men which were seen clearly in all three matches played. A positive aspect of the team is characterized by new signing Francesco Acerbi, considered by Poli to be security in the heart of the team’s defense.
“We have not seen very good football in these first three Matchdays; only Sassuolo and Fiorentina have played good games. Juventus remains one step ahead of all the other teams, who are chasing them. Lazio, against Frosinone, risked conceding: if you cannot double your opponent, the risk of victory is almost always mocked in the final minutes. The last part of the match for Lazio consisted of no accelerations and changes of pace on the outer lanes: I saw the Biancoceleste a little bit in trouble.”
“Francesco Acerbi represents, instead, security – a guarantee for Lazio. The problem of the First Team of the Capital is not the defense in my opinion, but it is applying the mechanisms and schemes of Simone Inzaghi because every year the Piacenza manager makes changes to his tactical design to be unpredictable to opponents.”
