Lazio vs Lupa Roma – post-match report – Eagles put 13 past Serie D side

Whilst the likes of Thomas Strakosha, Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic represent their countries in the new UEFA Nations League, the rest of the team are closer to home, having faced off against Lupa Roma, a local side, in a friendly match this morning. Lazio vs Lupa Roma finished and was a great way for the Biancocelesti to work on both conditioning and tactics, ahead of the resumption of Serie A with a trip to Empoli.

It took Lazio fifteen minutes to get off the mark, when a clearance gave blonde-haired right-back Dusan Basta the ball on the edge of the box; he controlled the ball and curved a shot to put the Eagles 1-0 up. It was just four minutes before Lazio doubled their lead, when a penalty was converted by Felipe Caicedo.

Five minutes later, on the 24 minute mark, Joaquin Correa picked up the ball inside the box and put one past the keeper to make it three-nil. The goals kept coming for Lazio as Caicedo scored his second of the game in the 32nd minute, finding himself in space to slot the ball past the goalkeeper.

In the 36th minute, Lazio made it 5-0, with Wallace getting up to meet the ball from a corner and making matters worse for the visitors. Caicedo managed to pick up an assist for Lucas Leiva’s goal to make it 6-0 and Basta scored his second to make it 7-0 at half-time.

Marco Parolo scored within just a minute of entering the field at half-time, to make it 8-0 to Lazio. Then, eight minutes later, Parolo doubled his tally to bring the score up to 9, before Patric scored in the 51st minute to bring Lazio to double figures.

Lupa Roma pulled one back in the 69th minute, making it 10-1 but Alessandro Rossi quickly scored his first of the game for Lazio’s eleventh. Patric then added his second and third just before the conclusion of the match as the Spaniard walks away with a hat-trick and Lazio walk away with a 13-1 friendly victory.
