Strakosha and Caceres star in international victories for Albania and Uruguay

Despite the number of Lazio players away on international duty, a surprising number did not play for their teams. The only two players who featured yesterday evening were Thomas Strakosha for Albania and Martin Caceres for Uruguay.

Ciro Immobile was not picked to play by new Italy manager Roberto Mancini, who instead opted to play Mario Balotelli and Andrea Belotti; with the decision to play Balotelli met with some criticism.

Similarly, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic was also left on the bench as Serbia triumphed 1-0 over Lithuania, whilst Adam Marusic was not included in the starting XI or bench for Montenegro’s 0-0 draw with Romania.

Thomas Strakosha played the full 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet as Albania beat Israel 1-0 in their first UEFA Nations League game and Martin Caceres played well as Uruguay defeated Mexico 4-1.
