Lazio’s veteran Romanian defender Stefan Radu suffered an injury in last weekend’s game against Empoli which cause flexor damage, leaving the defender out for several weeks. Therefore, Radu will miss the Rome derby against Roma at the end of September, as the Biancocelesti struggle to keep their back-line fit.
Lazio have already suffered an injury to Brazilian defender Luiz Felipe, who is fighting to be fit in time for the Rome derby, whilst Radu’s injury adds insult to said injury.
Radu will, in fact, miss the chance to make his 17th appearance in a Rome derby, as he looks to close the gap between himself and the record-holder; Pino Wilson, who starred in 23 Rome derbies during his time with the club.
Inzaghi may have to call upon Martin Caceres against Roma in a week-and-a-half’s time, or hope that his other defenders are up to the task.
