Silvio Proto, the 35-year-old Belgium-born keeper who was acquired over the summer to back up Thomas Strakosha, is set to start in his first official game for Lazio. Reports in Italy suggest that Proto will get the start against Apollon Limassol from Cyprus in Europa League.
Reporters out of Rome say that Inzaghi has trust in the 35-year-old Belgian keeper. He has excellent experience in Europe. Proto has appeared in 31 games in both Europa & the Champions League with both Anderlecht & Olympiacos dating back to 2012-13 season. After Strakosha stole 3 points at the Stadio Carlo Castellani on Sunday against Empoli, it will now be Proto’s turn to steal the show, in what should be a one-sided affair for Lazio.
The Lazio probable starting XI vs Apollon Limassol should be as follows.
Lazio, Simone Inzaghi (3-5-1-1): Proto; Bastos, Acerbi, Caceres; Basta, Cataldi, Badelj, Murgia, Durmisi; Luis Alberto; Caicedo.
