Felipe Caicedo: ‘We played with right mindset; happy with confidence’

Felipe Caicedo demonstrated what he can really do last night, being instrumental in both of Lazio’s goals. For the first goal, Caicedo played a fantastic no-look lay-off to put Luis Alberto through on goal whilst the Ecuadorian was fouled in the box to win the penalty that Immobile converted to make it 2-1.

Speaking to Sky Sport, via CalcioMercato, after the game, Caicedo reflected on his and the side’s success:

“We did well and we entered the field with the right mindset, they play well, they beat Basel and today they have had more possession in the last minutes ball of us, but we did what we had to do. Immobile scored and we won. Did I want to take the penalty? I talked to Ciro because he is usually the taker, he told me he wanted to take it and that’s that. I have to watch match by match, this is the first time I play from the first minute and I have to find the right shape, I’m happy with the confidence, I have to play and do what I can do.”
