Lazio picked up the three points to begin their UEFA Europa League campaign in a winning way, defeating Apollon Limassol. Goals were scored by Luis Alberto and Ciro Immobile, the latter taking his European goal tally to 9; after tying for Europa League top scorer last season.
Immobile, therefore, ties on goals scored in Europe with Claudio Lopez and only six players have scored more. Casiraghi has 10 goals, Kozak with 11, Chinaglia with 11, Rocchi and Nedved with 12 and Simone Inzaghi with 20. Immobile should have no problem eclipsing the likes of Kozak, Chinaglia and Rocchi in time but will he ever top Simone Inzaghi as Lazio’s record European goal scorer.
