Lazio have had a fair start to the season simultaneously winning and losing the games they were supposed to. This weekend they will be hosting Genoa, whom they lost to at home last season.
The Grifone have started off strong this season by winning two of their first three league games and winning their first Coppa Italia game. The shining star of their team so far has without a doubt been new addition Krzysztof Piątek. The young striker arrived this summer for €4 million from KS Krakow in Poland and has not stopped scoring since the season began. Piatek has four Coppa Italia goals and four Serie A goals in just four appearances so far.
Speaking with Sky Sports about this weekend’s matchup, the Polish striker said “I do not think about how I started the season, but about the job I’m doing in training and in each match. I give it my all, I do what the coach tells me. Now I think only of Lazio!”
It will not be easy for Lazio to secure all three points this weekend but it will be interesting to see who Simone Inzaghi picks in defense given the form Piatek has been in.
