Ciro Immobile has returned to goalscoring form: a brace in today’s 4-1 victory against Genoa are his first goals in the Serie A TIM since Matchday 1 against Napoli in the 2-1 loss. The Italian striker was quick to be interviewed after the match: “My contract renewal will soon be announced. I’m happy, I have given my thanks to the president, the director, and the management. I am proud to once again be part of this glorious family for another year”.
Returning to speak about the game, Immobile stated: “Today was the most convincing victory in the last 4 matches. It was not easy because Genoa is a good team. However, we entered the field with the right mindset to immediately unlock the result: it was a fundamental match for Lazio, because to this date, we had not managed to shine in our own way”.
Finally, he commented on the “strange” and “unusual” pairing of Caicedo-Immobile: “We complete ourselves, but we are definitely different. It is [Simone] Inzaghi who clearly has to make choices, not us; the agreement I have with Luis Alberto is perfect because we play more games together, but today Caicedo has been extraordinary, as well as on Thursday in the Europa League”.
