Lazio defeated Genoa 4-1 at the weekend to start a busy week of fixtures; with the Biancocelesti taking on Udinese mid-week and Roma in the Rome derby at the weekend. Speaking and reflecting on recent results, former Lazio goalkeeper Fernando Orsi spoke to Radiosei, via LaLazioSiamoNoi:
“Lazio grows, as it should be and how they are doing the best. I also liked Inzaghi’s choice to include Caicedo. He worked hard, gave a point of reference and created space for Immobile. I always liked having two real tips with one of the two doing dirty work and freeing the other more. With two strikers the opposing markers are all busy and forced to do a different job.”
“Lazio on the market has bought players to be able to break the squad. Inzaghi? I think he will often choose the two points that represent a valid alternative to 3-5-1-1. Yesterday I was struck by the intensity of the team, running for 90 minutes in today’s football is crucial. The game against Genoa can be classified as one of last year.”
“I see a championship like the last one and the points in the direct matches will be fundamental. Lazio in these challenges must improve, the Champions also passes from there. Udinese is a mangy team especially at home. The new coach has immediately adapted to Italian football and has players agile and fast between the lines. A victory would be very useful for the derby. I do not think Inzaghi does too much turnover, he can change a pawn, I do not think any more.”
