Udinese would have put up far less of a fight yesterday evening if it wasn’t for the spectacular, but albeit deflected, overhead kick effort from Dutch defender Bram Nuytinck which went into the back of the net via a bounce off Milan Badelj. Nuytinck scored a great goal but it wasn’t enough as Lazio ran out 2-1 winners in Udine on Wednesday night.
Speaking to Udinews TV, via LazioNews.eu, after the game, Nuytinck revealed more about his immediate reaction to the goal and the match that was:
“This is definitely the best goal of my career, I had already tried in training, never in the game. I’m happy for my goal, but not for the result. We were not lucky, but we worked hard playing well, we played against a very strong team. Now let’s see Sunday. At 2-0 down we did not give up because we have a strong team, which always works together and we have seen. Too bad, but this is football. In the locker room there was regret, because we lost playing well.”
