Lazio suffered an embarrassing 3-1 defeat against Roma in the Derby della Capitale today, with goals from Pellegrini, Kolarov and Fazio separating the two sides. Lazio equalised through Ciro Immobile after Pellegrini gave Roma the lead but, in the end, the Giallorossi worked harder for the victory. Speaking after the game, Lazio head coach Simone Inzaghi gave his thoughts at the press conference:

“I think that Roma were more vicious because they believed in it more. We had deservedly reached a draw but then we conceded a goal from a free-kick that condemned us. We will analyze the first half because we had to do better and we had more possession. Roma played long ball football to Dzeko who did well. I screamed a lot, on Wednesday I lost my voice.

“The 5 of the wall were still and the two of them stretched. Strakosha had not seen the ball get kicked. Too bad because the inertia of the match could change. It was a shame to have conceded this goal but this is football. At the level of malice, Roma were superior. There was nothing favourable for us but Roma has deservedly won.

“We had a very good 20 minutes and we deserved more. This does not have to be an alibi because we did not have to concede these 3. No alibi, the team was good on the pitch but we need to do more.”
