Simone Palombi has been dominating the Serie B. Arriving on loan to Lecce from Lazio, no one would have guessed that the young Italian would be on top of the scoring charts, but in reality, he is. With two braces (four goals) in three matches, the youngster is the joint top scorer so far in the league alongside Alfredo Donnarumma of Brescia.
Saverio Sticchi Damiani, the President of his current club spoke about Simone after his performance against Livorno: “Palombi has had yet another excellent performance, we knew we could get our hands on an important player and that’s why we took him in on loan with the right of redemption. Lazio is responsible for any counter-recourse that would still allow us to make a proper capital gain, but for now, we will enjoy him, he is currently our player who can continue to be in the future if he wants to be.”
Lecce currently sits in sixth place after five matches played; their record is 2W-2D-1L with 10 goals scored and 7 goals against.
