It has now been made official: Italian International striker Ciro Immobile and Serbian International midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic have renewed their contracts with Lazio until 2023. For quite some time now, speculation had it that the contracts were completed and that the club were waiting for a ‘good time’ to announce the news; after a Derby della Capitale defeat, this was the best way to hopefully cheer up Laziali. A 3-1 loss at the Stadio Olimpico, with a former Laziale in Aleksandar Kolarov scoring was certainly hard to take.
Here is the official statement from the club: “Press release 01.10.2018: S.S. Lazio announces that it has extended the economic contracts of the players Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinković-Savić until the 30th of June, 2023.”
The start of a new month, we hope that Lazio will return to winning fashion as they take on Eintracht Frankfurt away from home in the Europa League this week, alongside Ciro and Sergej.
