On Monday, Lazio confirmed contract extensions for both Ciro Immobile and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. According to CalcioMercato, Lucas Leiva is next up for renewal; with his current deal expiring in 2020 and the club interested in keeping him on until 2021 or 2022 at the earliest.
Lucas Leiva has been one of Lazio’s star performers so far in the 2018/19 campaign; having excelled as one of the Biancocelesti’s top players last season also. Despite being at the club for just over a year, Lucas has quickly settled and become a favourite amongst Laziale everywhere.
Optimistic times for Lazio as three of the club’s best players have renewed, or are close to renewing, their contracts; important for the club as they seek to avoid a repeat of the Stefan de Vrij saga – with the Dutch defender leaving on a free for Inter over the summer.
