Lazio were linked with Brazilian sensation Lucas Paqueta over the summer, with Igli Tare reportedly keeping an eye on the 21-year-old as he searched for reinforcements for Lazio’s front line. Nothing concrete was released or announced yet it seemed Lazio are generally keen in the Flamengo man, despite the large €50m~ price-tag.
However, Premium Sport, via LFC Globe, are reporting that Liverpool and in contact with Paqueta’s agent, with the representative reportedly in Liverpool to negotiate a deal. Meanwhile, CittaCeleste are reporting that AC Milan are in contact with Paqueta’s agent, as Leonardo tries to work on a deal to bring the wonderkid to Serie A.
Opinion:
Although Lucas Paqueta was reportedly a target of the club, he never seemed like a realistic one. Perhaps Tare will pull off a surprise and sign the Brazilian wonder-kid but with Milan and Liverpool accelerating, it does not look optimistic for the Biancocelesti. Milan and Liverpool have the financial power to throw near-enough €50 million into a relatively unproven 21-year-old from Brazil; whilst Lazio cannot compete on the same grounds.
