Lotito rejected Milinkovic-Savic Milan deal on grounds of ‘capital gain’

Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic ended up staying in the Italian capital, despite interest from Europe’s top clubs. The likes of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid, Chelsea and Juventus were all interested in Lazio’s 23-year-old powerhouse, with additional interest from Inter and Milan. Milan, as was reported last week, had a late offer for Milinkovic-Savic rejected; in a deal that would have seen Milan pay €160m for the Serb over four instalments.

The latest reports from Il Messaggero, via CalcioMercato, suggest that Lazio president Claudio Lotito rejected the deal himself; with the amortisation of payments not a model which suits Lazio in relation to the necessary capital gain.
