Former Argentine midfielder Matias Almeyda, who played at Lazio between 1997 and 2000, has officially been hired as the new coach of the San José Earthquakes in Major League Soccer (North America). Almeyda has earlier coached Chivas Guadaljara in Mexico, but left the club after a dispute over ambitions. He has previously not hidden his desire to once coach Lazio and maybe it is possible that he will succeed his former Lazio teammate Simone Inzaghi when the time is right. No matter how it all will end with Almeyda’s coaching career, we will always have his stunning strike against Parma to remember in our Laziale hearts.
