Lazio have resumed their positive journey that started after two losses (to Napoli and Juventus) but was then interrupted in the Derby: a 3-1 loss to Roma did not sit well, especially a 4-1 sequential defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League. The victory was found against Fiorentina as they won 1-0 thanks to a goal from Ciro Immobile.
Italian manager Giuseppe Iachini – whose last job was with Sassuolo last year (has coached Udinese, Palermo, Siena, Sampdoria, Brescia, Chievo, Piacenza, Vicenza, and Cesena in the past) – in an interview with Tuttosport, stated his thoughts about the championship hierarchies: “Juventus makes a championship unlike any others but I see Carlo Ancelotti’s Napoli right behind them. A step below the Neapolitan side is a fight between Inter, Roma, and Milan. Finally, not far from the three competitors for the Champions League spot are Lazio, Sampdoria, and Fiorentina. All three can bother the so-called greats and play entertaining football.”
