With Lazio’s 1-0 victory over Fiorentina last weekend, summer signing Francesco Acerbi made his 10th consecutive appearance for Lazio and 115th consecutive appearance at club level in Serie A.
The current record for consecutive Serie A appearances lies with former Inter star Javier Zanetti, who made 137 consecutive league appearances, 162 in total. If Francesco Acerbi were to play every match for Lazio this season, he will break Zanetti’s record and, considering his reliability as the Biancocelesti’s most consistent centre-back, this looks to be a real possibility.
