Roberto Mancini’s winless run as head coach of the Italian national team continued last night as the Azzurri were held to a 1-1 draw by Ukraine. Lazio’s Ciro Immobile came off of the bench in the 56th minute, replacing Federico Bernardeschi, who found the net for Italy just moments prior.
Immobile worked hard but ultimately it was to no avail; his only moment of note being a late attempt on goal from long-range which failed to find the back of the net. It was another disappointing night for Italy and for Ciro Immobile who, as with Lazio in recent weeks, probably wished the team around him could up their supply.
Francesco Acerbi was an unused substitute for Italy last night but has done extremely well to return to the Italian national team.
