Lazio signed Belgian goalkeeper Silvio Proto in the summer, bringing the experienced goalkeeper in as a replacement for Genoa-bound Federico Marchetti. Speaking to Lazio Style Channel, Proto reflected on his time at the club so far:
“The team is working well, we will have two weeks to prepare the next match, it was good to have won against Fiorentina, now we will have to concentrate on getting three points in Parma and then possibly in Marseille to get a good result. We want to win there too.
“I feel good in Italy, every day I work at best with Graubünden but also with Strakosha and the other goalkeepers, I like the sessions here at Lazio. At 35 I continue to grow, I’ve never trained like this before, it’s a positive thing for me so I keep learning.
“In the derby we should have scored earlier, we had some chances to do it: we had scored us, it would have been a different game. That defeat remained in our heads even against Frankfurt.
“I have been following the Serie A for years. Here a couple of elements can make the difference in each team while in Greece it was more the collective that decided the matches.
“We will have to watch match by match and if we were to win in Marseille, it would be good for us, but even a draw at the Velodrome would still allow us to have every opportunity to qualify for the next phase. Eintracht is a strong opponent but we still have everything in our hands. If we beat OM we could even finish first in Group H.”
