The January transfer market could reserve some surprises for Simone Inzaghi’s Lazio. There are still nearly three months to go and much will depend on how the first phase of the season goe, but between the league, the Europa League and the Italian Cup, there is a lot of matches that the biancocelesti need to perform, and succeed in: the feeling is that some tweaks, in and out, can be performed. Last year, Martin Caceres arrived from Hellas Verona and this year Laziali are not excluding the possibility for the club to bring in reinforcements when January of 2019 hits.

Today, rumors have reignited from Portugal that speaks of Lazio being keen on signing Yacine Brahimi. As reported by Radiosei, the Algerian with French passport has a contract with FC Porto expiring next June he and does not seem to want to renew with the Portuguese side. The 28-year-old could be a luxurious free agent next summer, but it is not excluded that with 4 or 5 million euros that Lazio would be able to secure him in January, thus allowing Porto to receive some money for the player.

Brahimi’s main position is on the left wing, but he can also play as a second striker or an outside midfielder which Igli Tare is a fan of. He could be a reinforcement in the attacking department (where there are currently Ciro Immobile, Felipe Caicedo, Joaquin Correa, Luis Alberto, and Alessandro Rossi).

In the next two and a half months the assessments will be made of the case – at the moment there is no real negotiation, only rumors that could find confirmation or vanish into thin air. In the summer of 2017 the player was positioned in the Biancocelesti view for the replacement of Keita, but in the end, Nani was the player to arrive.

The same thing could happen in 2019 or the player could finally land in Formello; at the moment everything is still in progress.
