Di Canio: ‘I’d rather throw myself from a plane with no parachute than say Forza Roma’

Passionate former Lazio star Paolo di Canio was born and started his career in Rome; meaning that he has a vivid hatred of Lazio’s fierce city rivals AS Roma. When asked at the ‘Tennis and Friends’ event to give a comment after a tennis match with former French World Cup-winner Victor Candela, Di Canio said the following to SuperTennis, via CittaCeleste:

Vincent is really good, technically strong and with incredible numbers, at the end, those numbers won them. Di Canio of tennis? I hope not. I do not know who to pick, it would be a bit ‘irreverent because it is a great sport but if I had to choose someone in the style of genius and unadulterated I would say Fabio Fognini, I see myself a bit’ in him. What for me to say ‘Forza Roma’? I first throw myself from an aeroplane or a skyscraper without a parachute.”
