The international break is over and club football has returned. Serie A sparked back to life on Saturday, with Roma losing 2-0 at home to SPAL, Juventus defeating Genoa and Napoli beating Udinese. Lazio must now travel north to Parma, the location of their next battle. Parma vs Lazio kicks off at 14:00 BST (15:00 local time) and can be seen on Eleven Sports, Arena Sport and beIN Sport across a range of countries and sub-networks.
Parma, the hosts, currently sit in 9th in Serie A; this being their first season in Italy’s top flight since the 14/15 season. In that season, Lazio won both fixtures against Parma – 4-0 at the Stadio Olimpico and 2-1 in Parma. Parma have won four of their last five league fixtures, including an impressive 1-0 win at the San Siro against Inter Milan and a 3-1 away victory against Genoa. In terms of home form, however, Parma have won just two in five in all competitions, poor results including a 1-0 Coppa Italia exit to Pisa and a 2-2 draw with Udinese.
Lazio currently sits in 4th place, a position that many a Laziale pray will remain by the end of the season. There have been some highs and lows for Simone Inzaghi’s men so far, including defeats to Roma and Frankfurt 3-1 and 4-1, and, most recently, a 1-0 victory over a strong Fiorentina side. Lazio will hope that they are well rested enough after the international break to face a side that have a lot to prove in their first season back in Serie A.
Parma vs Lazio promises to be an exciting clash and one that Simone Inzaghi will be hoping to return home from with all three points.
