At the end of the challenge won by Lazio at the Stade Velodrome in France, Marseille manager Rudi Garcia spoke to the Sky Sport microphones.
“It was too much Lazio and too little Marseille. They were much stronger than us in the match. They are an excellent team, well organized, even defensively. The worst scenario was to see them score immediately. When they are ahead and have the speed of Caicedo and Immobile up top, it becomes even more difficult for us. Now everything is more complicated, we will have to win at the Stadio Olimpico. As long as math does not condemn us, we will try our best to qualify. There is nothing else to say, they were stronger and better than us”.
Marseille sits at the bottom of Group H with just 1 point after three Matchdays: they lost to Eintracht Frankfurt in Matchday 1 by a score of 2-1 and tied Apollon Limassol in Matchday 2 by a score of 2-2 in their other two matches. They will have to hope for Lazio or Eintracht to drop points while winning the rest of their matches if they want to progress.
