There is plenty of Lazio transfer news to go through this evening; with reports from the Italian media suggesting a number of things could be in the works. Spal right-back Manuel Lazzari is a name familiar to Laziali already, having been linked to the club over the summer. There are also updates in regards to the contract situations regarding Lucas Leiva and Jordan Lukaku, Leiva’s current deal expiring in 2020 and Lukaku’s in 2019.
According to reports from Il Corriere dello Sport, Lazio are considering another move to sign right wing-back Manuel Lazzari from Serie A side Spal. The Biancocelesti were linked to the defender in the summer but Inzaghi opted to remain with Adam Marusic, Patric and Dusan Basta. Basta’s time at Lazio looks to be over now whilst Tare and Lotito will likely choose to stick with Marusic and Patric until next summer. Alessandro Murgia is a reported target of Spal and the Biancocelesti management could use the Italian midfielder as a bargaining chip for Lazzari; or at the very least a loan to get the two clubs on good terms.
Two more reports from Il Corriere dello Sport suggest that Lucas Leiva will be signing a one-year contract extension to keep him in Lazio colours until 2021. Meanwhile, it appears as though there is no progress towards a new deal for Jordan Lukaku, who has been struggling with injury and fitness problems since before the summer. Lukaku will need to get back on the field soon if he is to impress the management enough to earn an extension on his contract, or he could leave the club on a free next summer.
