Lazio-Marseille, team news ahead of Europa League clash

On Thursday evening, Lazio will host Marseille in Rome for match-day four of the UEFA Europa League. The teams met two weeks ago in Marseille’s Orange Velodrome; Lazio emerging 3-1 victors after a calm and confident performance from Simone Inzaghi’s side. Inzaghi has, however, a few selection issues ahead of the game with Marseille, that TheLaziali will bring you ahead of the match.

Joaquin Correa will return to the Europa League squad and will likely start the game on Thursday, returning from suspension after a red card received in Lazio’s 4-1 away defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt. Correa did not start against Spal yesterday, with Inzaghi selecting Felipe Caicedo – yet Correa came on and showed some real glimpses of quality.

Midfield duo Lucas Leiva and Milan Badelj will both miss the game through injury; meaning we can likely expect Danilo Cataldi to return to midfield alongside two of Marco Parolo, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Valon Berisha. Cataldi impressed many with his performance against Spal, scoring a goal and picking up one assist too.

Jordan Lukaku and Patric are still both unregistered for the European games and will therefore miss the game also.
