Lazio vs Marseille, Strakosha: “We believed in progression”

A final and decisive save at the end of the Matchday 4 Europa League clash between Lazio and Marseille, Thomas Strakosha was a huge factor in progressing to the Round of 32. The Albanian goalkeeper, at the end of the match, was interviewed by Sky Sport 24 microphones and many news reporters.

Firstly, speaking about securing progression to the Round of 32: “Nobody expected it, we believed in progression to the Round of 32. We had a great game tonight. How far can we get in the competition? We need to do better than last year when we exited poorly in the quarterfinals. Anything can happen, but there is no responsibility in saying let’s get to the final”.

Next, answering questions.

“In this qualification, there is everyone’s signature; everyone today has made his contribution. It was a nice, we deserved victory and we are happy. We did not expect to qualify with two matches in hand, but we had the quality to do it and thank God it happened. We are very happy. I was sure among the posts also last year, the team is always strong.”

“Since I’ve been here I’ve always had a strong defensive department, but the midfield and the attack are also strong, all working in unison.”

“It will be a complicated race against Sassuolo, they will play well and will take to the field at home. But we must not be afraid of anyone. If we play concentrated and with the right wickedness we will come out well.”

“Playing with continuity helps me? I like to play football, I do not like being out, of course, the coach decides when I have to stay out or in the field.”

“We are not going beyond our expectations, last year we were doing a little bit better. We must always improve and reach the goal that we did not achieve last year. Now I do not think about the primacy of the group, now there is the championship, then we will think about the Europa League”.
