Milinkovic-Savic and Immobile present in Goal.com’s ‘Goal 50’

Goal.com has released its rankings of the ’50 Best Footballers in the World’ for the 2017/18 season. Real Madrid’s Croatian midfielder Luka Modric secured the number one spot, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo and Liverpool’s break-out star Mohamed Salah. Also present in the list are two Lazio players – these two are Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ciro Immobile.

The Serbian International continues to gain attraction despite ‘regular’ performances so far this season (in comparison to last year); he enters the list (in 40th) ahead of players such as Gianluigi Buffon, Romelu Lukaku, Kalidou Koulibaly, and Edin Dzeko in this ranking. A dominant force, Milinkovic-Savic was, and still is,  a wanted man by several top clubs around Europe. His size, technicality, and physical presence are a huge asset for a side.

Italian International Ciro Immobile finds himself eight positions back of his teammate, as he sits in the 48th position. The Capacannoniere, who has three 20+ goal seasons in the Serie A TIM already under his belt, has been the bargain of a lifetime when he came to the biancocelesti for around 9.5 million euros. He has already continued his fine form into this season as well, scoring 8 goals in 11 starts for the Roman side (Serie A TIM).
