Caicedo refused Ecuador call to focus on recovery for Lazio-Milan

According to what has been reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, Felipe Caicedo rejected a call-up to the Ecuadorian national team in order to focus on recovering from a minor injury in time for Lazio’s match against AC Milan. Lazio host Milan at the Stadio Olimpico on the 25th of November, once the international break ends, and Caicedo is doing everything he can to be available for that match.

Caicedo suffered a minor set-back in the Europa League clash against Marseille and missed the match with Sassuolo before international football resumed. It has been a dramatic shift in perspective regarding Caicedo in the past few months, from nearly every Lazio fan wishing he be show the door and replaced, to the Ecuadorian becoming an important part of the team. He took time to settle but Lazio are now reaping the rewards for what looked like an initially questionable transfer.
