Italy, Mancini calls Acerbi after Romagnoli injury

Another injury problem for Gennaro Gattuso and the Rossoneri. According to Sky Sport, starting center-half Alessio Romagnoli has had to leave Coverciano due to a muscle contraction in his leg. The 23-year-old who has played in 11 Serie A TIM matches this season, scoring two goals and assisting another two, is, therefore, doubtful for the clash against Lazio in Matchday 13. This adds another tally to the long list of injuries Milan currently has; whilst Romagnoli was not presumed to start against Portugal, he was a possibility for the United States friendly.

To replace the defender, Mancini has called Lazio’s Francesco Acerbi to join to the squad ahead of the UEFA Nations League clash tomorrow. He joins fellow Laziale Ciro Immobile once again this year on International Duty (after receiving a call-up earlier this year).
