Lazio’s Brazilian-Italian defender Luiz Felipe is apparently just a couple of steps away from the Italian national team. Despite playing with the Brazilian under-20 side twice, it appears that Felipe has been convinced that his future lies with the Azzurri.
According to what has been reported by Radiosei, via LaLazioSiamoNoi, Luiz Felipe could earn a call-up to the Italian national team in 2019, with the defender already sending off the necessary documents and paperwork to order an official Italian passport and the relevant technical papers.
The defender himself is very interested in playing for Italy and could improve Lazio’s current lacklustre selection of Italian national team players – with Ciro Immobile even not given that much game-time for Mancini’s side. A call-up could give the Brazilian-Italian a big confidence boost too; perhaps just what he needs to make the next step up.
