According to the latest reports from Italian newspaper Tuttosport, Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has promised head coach Carlo Ancelotti a superstar striker to bolster his attack. Napoli’s first target seems to be Uruguayan PSG forward Edinson Cavani but Tuttosport suggest that, if they fail, they will instead turn their attention to Lazio forward Ciro Immobile.

Immobile was a target of Tottenham Hotspur and Monaco in the summer but recently renewed his Biancocelesti contract to make him one of the highest paid earners of the Claudio Lotito era at the club. If Napoli are serious about the Lazio forward, they will need to come up with a big offer to tempt Lotito to accept; with Ciro happy in Rome and unlikely to want to leave unless he has no other option.
