Correa: “I can really grow with Lazio, credit to Inzaghi”

After arriving this past summer to fill the void left by Felipe Anderson, Joaquin Correa had a very important role to fulfill. A few first shaky outings getting used to his surroundings, he has now turned into a very bright and confident player, becoming a fan favorite at the Stadio Olimpico: he has three goals this season in the same number of matches started, an 87.2% passing accuracy, and one of the highest success rates for dribbling in the Serie A TIM (Top 5). The statistics are in his favor and with consistent positive performances, he can really prove to be a top player. Today, he spoke to the microphones of Radiosei about his objectives, Simone Inzaghi, and Lazio as a whole.

A lot of people follow Lazio in Argentina, I used to watch Veron’s games with my dad as a child at the time when they won the Scudetto. I was fine at Sevilla but wanted a new adventure. I’ve started in an excellent way here”.

“Our objectives? We can reach the Champions League – I think the missed qualification last year has to give us the desire and want to reach it this year. There are other strong teams but we will take our chances.”

“The Selecciòn? I thought I would have gone to the World Cup but it didn’t go that way: I’ll do my best to come back. You dribble a lot in Spain, while here, there’s a lot of attention on tactics and I think I can improve a lot, especially in the defensive phase. I think I can really grow with Lazio”.

Simone Inzaghi is very well prepared, he knows what to do and credit goes to him as I feel good in the group today.”

Regarding Rome, it’s marvelous. My family often come to visit me, and even with my girlfriend, we’re slowly discovering how beautiful the city is. I’d now like to meet the Pope: he’s a reason for great pride among us Argentines”.
