Chievo vs Lazio, Inzaghi: “A difficult match awaits us”

A 1-1 draw against Milan, a 2-0 defeat against Apollon Limassol in the Europa League. These last two results have not been what everyone has expected, but nonetheless, it is now behind us – Lazio now has to look forward to Verona, where they will play Chievo.

“It is never a pleasure to lose. We have analyzed the match with the Cypriots, but since the post-match of Lazio vs Milan, our head has been thinking of the Chievo Verona match, because a very difficult game awaits us. We will meet a team that matched Napoli in the last round of the Serie A TIM thanks to great spirit shown. Di Carlo is an expert and a very good coach, they will give us a few spaces. The match will be full of pitfalls and we will have to play it in the best possible way”.

Inzaghi then spoke about the injuries to his side: Lucas Leiva will not be called, as well as Bruno Jordao and Luis Alberto. The Spaniard wanted to be present, but he suffered from pain to his pubis. Clinical tests have yielded positive results. At the end of today’s training, we decided together to aim for Sampdoria; all the other guys have been called up and will be eligible for the match against Chievo Verona”.

On the starting eleven: “Badelj played an excellent match against Milan: everyone knows his technical and moral skills, he is a man in the changing room and can help everyone in our growth. Tomorrow he will be a starter again and will offer a great performance. Lucas Leiva will take another three or four days of recovery, at the end of which we will hopefully have him available to prepare for Sampdoria. I tried Acerbi as a replacement for Radu because he has already done so in the past and is a solution that I have developed in the past: he is a versatile defender and can also play that role in the event of the unavailability of Radu. He played an excellent match in this position, being a left-footed player.”
