The draw for the next round of Europa League will be held in Nyon on Monday, December 17th, at 13:00 Central Eastern Time, where we will get to see who Lazio’s next opponent will be.
Relegated from the Champions League: Napoli (cannot play Lazio), Inter (cannot play Lazio), Club Brugge, Galatasaray, Benfica, Shakhtar Donetsk, Viktoria Plzen, Valencia.
First Place in Europa League Groups: Bayer Leverkusen, RB Salzburg, Zenit, Dinamo Zagreb, Arsenal, Real Betis, Villarreal, Eintracht Frankfurt (cannot play Lazio), Genk, Sevilla, Dynamo Kiev, Chelsea.
Second Place in Europa League Groups: FC Zurich, Celtic, Slavia Praha, Fenerbahce, Sporting, Olympiakos, Rapid Wien, Lazio, Malmo, FC Krasnodar, Rennes, BATE.
Any of the clubs from the first two groupings above can be Lazio’s opponent – the worst possibility would definitely be Premier League sides Arsenal or Chelsea, while possible redemption matches against German side Bayer Leverkusen and Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg are also in the mix.
