Report: Alessandro Murgia to seek loan move to maintain Italy U21 spot

In June, there will be the European championship for the Italian Under 21 team. Alessandro Murgia intends not to lose his starting spot, but, to convince Italian manager Luigi Di Biagio, he most definitely needs to play more.  For his reason, his agent Alessandro Lucci and Lazio are considering a solution for January: Murgia is likely to go on loan for six months.

As reported by Radiosei, the coach of the national team told Murgia to reflect on the option. Competition is plentiful in the National team, and with only three midfielders (similar to Lazio), his position is up for grabs. In this first part of the season, Murgia has found little space and is surrounded by too many Lazio midfielders. Moreover, in the hierarchies of Inzaghi, Cataldi has now overtook him. Now, if we add that the young midfielder has not even been lucky, due to the hand fracture during the summer retreat and the consequent drop in form, everything has come back to penalize him.

All in all, one thing is certain: Lazio does not want to lose Murgia – this is why a short-term loan of 6 months is perfect, considering that the youngster has a contract that binds him to Lazio until 2022.
