In Bergamo yesterday, Lazio were defeated by Atalanta after a goal in the 1′ from Duvan Zapata; one small mistake early on led to a loss. Simone Inzaghi’s side showed the effort to try and get back into the match, but it never happened due to a real lack of concreteness and fluidity. At the end of the match, Ciro Immobile was interviewed by Lazio Style Channel. “Unfortunately we must take what we have collected, which is nothing. We have to raise our heads and each of us has to come up with something more. I think that Lazio goes away from Bergamo with the regret of having been able to do more, but evidently what we are doing is not enough. To concede goals at the start and play the whole game with the result at a disadvantage was hard and did not help us, but now we have to change this bad trend and recover our form. Inzaghi tried to help us in getting a goal by putting in as many attackers as possible – even Francesco Acerbi came forward. Unfortunately, this is a difficult period, but we must not throw ourselves down”.
Before leaving, Immobile briefly spoke on the Europa League, where Lazio will face off against Sevilla in the next round. “It will be a beautiful and fascinating challenge against Sevilla. They are a strong team that has won three editions of the Europa League. We must be prepared. Until then, our heads are focused on the league.”
