Ragnar Klavan joined Cagliari this season for a fee around £2 million. After two years in England with Premier League side Liverpool, the time had come for him to move on in search of first-team playing time; when the Rossoblu Serie A TIM side came knocking for the 33-year old from Estonia, he accepted without hesitance. A two-year contract, Klavan is believed to become a regular starter for the mid-table side. He has played in 9 matches so far, but this is only due to an Achilles tendon problem he picked up which forced him to miss 57 days (six matches) of football.
After the defeat to Atalanta in Matchday 16, (seven-match winless streak) Lazio will have to try to return to winning ways against Cagliari. After the match against Napoli, Klavan spoke about the next match: “Lazio is a great team, but if we play as we have in the last few games, we can make life difficult for them too. We must go on the pitch without fear and play one hundred percent”.
