Nicola Sansone’s La Liga adventure seems to be in its final stage as the 27-year-old winger is said to be pushing for a move back to Serie A.
The Italian made a name for himself at Parma before moving to Sassuolo where he played along side Domenico Berardi and Simone Zaza while the team was still in its Serie A infancy. Sansone made 89 appearances for the Neroverdi scoring 20 goals and adding 15 assists before being sold to Villarreal in 2016 for €13 million.
Unfortunately he hasn’t seen much game time this season, only making 7 appearances in all competitions, after a sub-par season last year. According to lalaziosiamonoi, Sansone has garnered interest from not only Lazio, but also Fiorentina.
The German-born Italian could prove to be a clever addition to Lazio’s squad as the team is in desperate need of goals from someone who isn’t Ciro Immobile. Sansone can fill in on the wing or as a second striker and his versatility would certainly be an asset for Simone Inzaghi. A loan with option to buy in the summer could end up being the best move for both clubs and Sansone.
